On Saturday, July 21st local soccer enthusiast and President of Pauls Valley’s Arts Council, Mike Dyson, will host Pauls Valley’s first ever Youth Soccer Camp.

The camp will be held at the soccer complex behind Wal-Mart, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is open to kids, ages 4-16.

“I’ve seen a real growing interest in soccer within our community and a need for more education on the sport,” explained Dyson.

Dyson hopes to make the Soccer Camp an annual event, providing training, education and fun for kids interested in soccer.

Through sponsorship from Dr Allee’s office, The Toy and Action Figure Museum, The Garvin County News Star and many more, Dyson was able to lower the registration fee and provide each child with a t-shirt and a soccer ball.

“I want a soccer ball in every home of every kid who wants one. I want to generate interest and make this readily available for kids and families to partake. ” explained Dyson.

“Kathy and Ed Tillery have done an excellent job running the league for our community,” added Dyson.

Camp coaches include former collegiate soccer players, as well as the head soccer coaches for Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City.

The fee to participate is $15 per child and forms are available at the Donald W Reynolds Recreation Center.

Forms and fee should be dropped off at the Rec Center no later than Monday, July 16th, to insure a shirt and a soccer ball.

Parents should make checks payable to Pauls Valley Soccer.
