First-grade art show celebrates individuality

Whitebead students from Erica Shippey’s first-grade class dressed in their finest attire and gathered at a local art gallery with friends and family Monday evening for an unusual art show celebrating what makes each of them unique.Called “Characteristics on Canvas,” the show, hosted by The Vault Art Space and Gathering Place, featured self-portraits painted by each of Shippey’s 32 students.The…
