Myrtle Naomi Watkins Shivers left this life to join her Heavenly Father on February 12, 2024. She was born February 24, 1927, in Prague, Oklahoma, to Sylvester and Addie Vivian Watkins. She married Carl David Shivers on June 26, 1946, in Prague, Oklahoma, and to this union was born four children. Myrtle was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her Godly and exemplary life set the example for everyone in her family and many others as well. She was a faithful pastor’s wife for more than 62 years while Carl pastored in more than twelve churches. She was affiliated with the Stratford Free Will Baptist Church in her later years. Throughout her life, she also owned Myrtle’s Dress Shop, was manager of Bayless Drug, and was owner/broker of Shivers’ Real Estate. In addition to these jobs and positions, she sold insurance, was active in her community including Stratford FFA Mother’s Club and Stratford Chamber of Commerce.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband Carl; her parents; eight brothers and sisters; and a grandson-in-law, Dustin Brown.

She is survived by daughter, Janet Elmore and husband, Charles, of Moore, Oklahoma; sons, F.D. Sky Shivers and wife, Debbie, of Prague, David Shivers and wife, Teresa, also of Prague; and Phillip Shivers and wife, Mary, of Ada, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Jeff Elmore and wife, Amy, Julie Savage and husband, Paul, Jennifer Cary and husband, Leroy, Tracy Wimmer and husband, Dylan, Kari Brown, Kristy Tinney and husband, Kenny, Abbra Scoggin and husband, Rett, Molly Milmo and husband, Russell, Derek Shivers and wife, Sierra and Tyson Shivers; great-grandchildren, Riley Shaub and husband, Colton, Garrett Elmore and wife, Lexie, Cody Elmore, Cade Savage, Brody Savage, Brynn Walters and husband, Orrin, Taylor Wimmer, Drayden Wimmer, Landreigh Wimmer, Dylan Brown, Kynzee Brown, Kalynn Brown, Pepyr Tinney, Jaylea Scoggin, Chett Scoggin, Lola Milmo, Aden Milmo, Rowan Shivers, and Jonah Shivers; great-great-grandchild, Blakely Shaub; one sister-in-law, Wanda Shivers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearer were grandchildren, Jeff Elmore, Julie Savage, Jennifer Cary, Tracy Wimmer, Karie Brown, Kristy Tinney, Abbra Scoggin, Molly Milmo, Derek Shivers and Tyson Shivers.

Services were held February 17, 2024, in the Free Will Baptist Church, Stratford, Oklahoma. Interment followed in Little Cemetery, Little, Oklahoma, with Rev. Lewis Perry officiating. Services were under the direction of DeArman/Pickard Chapel Stratford, Oklahoma.
