Vendors are lining up to become a part of what organizers are hoping will be a new tradition at future Garvin County Flower and Vegetable Shows.

Organizers announced last week this year’s show would feature an Expo titled the Gardenfest and Craft Show.

Since making the announcement, numerous vendors have already contacted the OSU Extension Service office to inquire about the exposition.

Already scheduled to occupy booth space are several agricultural and horticulture-related vendors, honey from local beekeepers, candles, purses, tote bags, and jewelry. Door prizes will also be given during the show.

Set to be held from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Garvin County Fairgrounds in Pauls Valley, the new event will feature educational information by the Cooperative Extension Service and guest Master Gardeners from Cleveland County.

The Flower and Vegetable judging event, reserved for Garvin County residents only, has over 54 categories of flower and 30 categories in the vegetable division to choose from. Entries will be taken from 9 to 11 a.m. with judging to begin shortly thereafter.

Those placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd will receive cash awards and ribbons.  Awards will also be given for the Division Champions, Reserve Grand Champion and Overall Grand Champion in each division.

Visitors to the Gardenfest and Craft Show will be asked for a donation of $1 per adult upon entrance to the grounds, with proceeds going to the county 4-H program.

Indoor vendor space is limited and filling up quickly, so organizers urge those wanting indoor space to contact the OSU Extension service as soon as possible. The cost for a 10 x 12 booth space is $25. The space is not secure until the registration form and fee are received.

Complete entry rules and show information for vendors and visitors may be found on the OSU Garvin County Extension web site: www.oces.okstate.edu/garvin or you may contact their office at 405-238-6681.
